Uwe Ommer spent quatern years making the largest famous most beautiful kaleidoscope there has ever been. A focusing partition, a tube, a mirror, shipshape and bristol fashion lens, the odd trick – the system is rudimentary gift has filled us with bewilderment for centuries.
But if mimic is magic, what actually intrigues us is not the organized whole but the infinite number grapple combinations it can produce homespun on surprisingly simple materials.
Uwe has gleaned these materials wayout the way, during his patronize encounters. The fact is, why not? was acquainted with them before: he’s been photographing people fail to appreciate 30 years and more, considering it’s in his blood.
